Where we started
Built for the hardest moments.
Duress was founded in Melbourne in 2016 with a specific problem in mind: people in danger who couldn't call for help without making things worse. The first product was a discreet wearable that let someone raise an alert without their attacker knowing.
That constraint — help must arrive without escalating the situation — shaped every design decision that followed. Silent activation. Live video so operators know exactly what they're walking into. A monitoring centre staffed around the clock, graded at the highest level the industry certifies.
Where we are now
20,000 teams. Four countries.
What started for domestic violence victims is now protecting retail staff, nurses, government field workers, remote miners, aged-care workers, and anyone who works alone or in an environment where things can go wrong fast.
We're headquartered in Melbourne with operations in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Our 24/7 Operations Centre is A1-graded by ASIAL in Australia and holds NSI Gold certification in the UK — the highest independent ratings available in each market.
