Primary obligation

Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974

UK transport employers fall under HSWA 1974 plus mode-specific obligations: the Road Traffic Act for road operations, the Railways Act 1993 + ROGS 2006 for rail, and the Working Time Directive for driver hours. The HSE's lone-worker guidance (INDG401) sets the response-and-recording standard Duress provides out of the box.
