The worker presses a button or slides to alert, and the alarm goes to an accredited 24/7 monitoring centre where a trained operator answers with live audio, location and, on camera-equipped devices, video already in front of them. Why it exists

The problem it solves

An unmonitored alarm is a notification. It goes to a colleague who may be driving, off shift, or holding their own emergency. The gap between raising an alarm and a competent person acting on it is the whole product.

The alert also has to survive the moment it is used in. That means a trigger a person can find without looking, confirmation they can feel rather than read, and a path to the operator that does not depend on the worker saying anything at all.

    The worker triggers it

    A single press on Falcon, Phoenix or Eagle, or a deliberate slide in the Duress App. All four are designed to be hard to fire by accident and fast under pressure, with haptic confirmation on the hardware so the worker knows it went without looking at the device.

    The case opens at the monitoring centre

    The alarm lands at an accredited 24/7 centre, ASIAL A1-graded in Australia and BS 5979 / NSI Gold in the UK. A trained operator picks it up, with a median of 7 seconds across FY26.

    The operator sees before they ask

    Location, live audio and, on Falcon and Eagle, live video are already on the operator's screen when they answer. They assess rather than interrogate, which matters when the worker cannot safely speak.

    Location keeps updating

    Position refreshes every 5 seconds for the duration of the alert, so a worker who is moving does not strand the response at where they started.

    It escalates on a clock, not a hunch

    If the case is not resolved, escalation runs on a 4-minute cadence through the contacts and procedures configured for that site, up to and including emergency services.

    The record is kept

    The activation, the audio, the location trail and every escalation step are written to Pathfinder as an audit record, exportable as CSV or XLSX.

Common questions

What happens if the worker cannot speak?
Nothing about the response depends on them speaking. The operator has live audio, location and often video the moment they answer, so they can assess the situation and escalate without a word from the worker. That is the point of a monitored alarm rather than a phone call.
Does an alert always call emergency services?
No, and it should not. Across FY26, 815 activations were confirmed emergencies out of 20,433. Most were resolved with an operator on the line, without needing emergency services. The operator's job is to work out which one this is.
Can an alert be cancelled if it was a mistake?
Yes. Accidental activations happen and the process expects them. The operator confirms with the worker and closes the case. The activation is still recorded, because the record is what makes the system auditable.
What if there is no mobile coverage?
Nothing raises an alarm without a path to the centre. Falcon and Eagle carry their own 4G and fall back to SMS when data is unavailable, which covers marginal signal but not genuine dead zones. For work beyond all cellular coverage, a satellite tool is the right answer and we will say so.
