Hardware is the number vendors quote. The total is hardware plus licence plus monitoring plus replacement, over however long you keep it. This works out the real figure from our published catalog prices, with term and volume discounts applied.

What a total actually has to include
Most vendor quotes cover the hardware and the first year. Four things get left out, and together they are usually a bigger number than the devices:
- The licence. Per user, every month, for as long as you use it. At $35 AUD per user per month, a team of 25 over three years is far more than the hardware.
- Monitoring. Ask whether it is included or a paid tier. Ours is included in the licence, which is why there is no separate line for it below.
- Replacement. Devices get lost, dropped and left in taxis. Budget for it rather than discovering it.
- Renewal. Ask what happens to the price at the end of the term, and get the answer in writing before you sign.
